Les was instructed to call the RFH at 10 am yesterday for check in times and details. He did as instructed and was told they would ring him back later as beds became available. He explained he was far outside London, necessitating two trains and a bus to get to the RFH. They said they've made note of this and if we didn't hear from them by 4 p.m. yesterday, we should call back.
Les paced all day, his stress level rising as time passed. He called them back at 4:10 p.m. and was told the surgery had been canceled as there were no beds available; they will phone with a new appointment time in a few days...gutted.

Oh, FFS... Mxox PS and reCAPTCHA, don't ask - I am NOT a f'ing robot. If I was, this news wouldn't faze me!!!
Not enough beds; a common problem the world over. Or so it seems. During my initial cancer surgery here in Southern Ontario had to wait three months before a path and a bed was made available. And even then, once in hospital a wait of four days before my eight hour surgery due to a lack of operating rooms due to government cutbacks and lack of qualified surgeons.
How awful for you both. And to wait all day before they advised of the situation. Hope they get back asap with a new date. Thinking of you both, and Les, the wood box looks great:-)
Keep calm if you can I am sure something will be sorted very quickly.
Enjoy each other for now and lots of cuddles will be needed, oh and smiles as well
Thinking of you both xxx
Thanks everyone. This is the third time Les' cancer surgeries have been canceled. I can see why the UK has such abysmal survival statistics compared to the U.S. and Sweden for example.
Mood lifted a bit today. It's beautiful and sunny. Les continues to work on the wood box but I've been stuck inside grading exams and computing final grades all day. Time for a walk!
Hugs to you all,
Jaq and LesXX
