Having so much back pain at the moment I just can`t be sitting for long. Tried the Osteopath in Hinckley without success and have found a Chiropractor that after one visit seems to be helping. Some days are ok but a lot of nights I am up waiting for extra pain killers to kick in.
So a couple more sessions with Jane the chiropractor might help, time will tell.

Les, I do hope you feel better soon - I am pretty sure you don't need more hassles health-wise!
Does this mean you are reasonably stationary, boat-wise at the moment?
Big gentle hugs to you both, M&Dxox
Ooh, nasty. Hope you start to feel much better very soon. xx
Marilyn and Carol,
Yes it does mean we are stationary at the mo, here on the Staff and Worcs. We've been here a week tomorrow when we will go up through the lock, fill up with H2O, empty the rubbish and moor up again. We are hoping to be on the move again later this week.
Les' back troubles stem from something he pulled or did back in late February/early March and of course he wouldn't seek help at the time--or for months afterward until the pain grew so bad he could barely move. Neither of us have had a decent night's sleep in a month and a half despite Tramadol dulling his pain.
Thankfully I found a really superb chiropractor in Penkridge and Les had his second treatment today with very good results. We have had to be careful and rule out cancer in the bone, which we neither us think is the case. It has been a trying time for us both. 83F and brilliant sunshine and we are stuck unable to do much of anything. Fingers crossed this treatment works and Les is soon backing to his old happy, healthier self.

My chiropractor keeps me going as well; we went to high school together so that's 50 years plus. He has been my chiro all that time so knows my aging body quite well. Strange, he doesn't seems to age as rapidly as I have been aging...maybe cuase he runs, exercise (other people) and plays gold twice a week (without one of those danged eelctric carts);
and still puts in a ten hour day 5 days (not successive) per week.
So make sure the bone-cruncher is helpuing, once crunched, it takes
a day or two for the connecting tissue to recover and change shape.
Hi Les
Have you thought about trying acupuncture?
I used it when my back was bad in the past. It was better then all of the physio I had at the hospital. Even went straight to the osteopath after my accident several years ago instead of the doctor and hospital.
It's worth a try.

Problem is being on move all the time rules out long term chiropractor treatment.
Not sure about acupuncture as it might after all have something to do with the cancer., who knows. Waiting for a scan and concidering turning back closer to GP and easier access to the hospital.

Hi Les
Sorry to hear your suffering with your back. I had a similar issue, but found ordinary chiro did not help. Was so desperate, crawled into the alternative therapy rooms locally and they put me in touch with a McTenemy chiropractor(hope I've spealt that right). No nasty bone crunching, they just move you about gently. Didn;t think it would work, but within 24 hours I was walking upright. 7 years later I am still OK. Ordinary chirpractors call them quacks but it helped me! Yearly re alignment is all it takes. Hope you get better soon:-)Carolyn. Carapace
How's the back, Les? I hope you're improving. Thinking about you both.
Cheers
Alistair
