Lee Valley White Water Centre

Below is an aeriel view of the Lee Valley White Water Centre. It was the Olympic venue for the Canoe Slalom in which team GB won Gold and Silver.

The bottom left corner of the picture is where we moored for 4 days chilling out after our epic journey. The sun was out so Jaq decided to wash all the curtains and catch up on some other washing.

Just above Waltham town lock is the best mooring to access the centre via the back gate. The centre is open Wednesday to Sunday for public access and entrance is free.

Well worth a visit even if you decide to move on after. Our stay was during the practice runs for the choosing of the next Olympics team GB.

This is the 984feet Olympic course that drops 18 feet. The flow is controllable via it`s 5 pumps. There is also a practice course of 525 feet with a 5 feet drop.
Onto the boat lift to do it all over again.

This is the 9 person inflatable making  the journey up the boat lift/ramp.
So as they come off the lift into the top pool for their first White Water ride don`t get yourselves wet just click the link below and watch the short video I made.

And the other direction

Ok so we did have to share with 3 pairs of  Greylag geese and 18 goslings.
