But surely this is not something that could actually occur is it? Isn't it the raving of a Sociopath? Well actually this scenario could play out because Trump is a master at identifying and manipulating gray areas of law to his benefit and sadly there are so many gray areas with regards to U.S. Presidential elections that this could actually occur. Hi Jaq, fascinating read. I don't envy you the next 3 or 4 months of mayhem that this election will bring not just to you and your's but to the USA as a whole. Hi Judith,
Life here is stressful and trying on so many levels as you have noted. Now we are facing the nomination of a young ultra religious conservative judge to the Supreme Court where her decisions can affect our lives for many decades to come. I feel as though the American Democracy is hanging by a very slender thread and we are closer to civil war than we've been since 1861.
I only go out three times a week to the grocery stores nearby for weekly groceries and top-ups and then back home, I wear my mask, and insist on social distancing even when others do not. Otherwise I only go outside to check the mail or walk the dog. I miss the canals and the boat and realize I made a terrible mistake in selling the boat and returning to the States so I am grateful for the boaters' blogs which keep me connected to the cut and all the lovely people I am privileged to know.
