Jaq is on her laptop opposite me. So I`m thinking before we go out for a walk let`s see how the solar is doing.
We have;
2 laptops plugged in and charging.
The fridge is on.
I have switched on the TV and Skybox. (part of test)
All running off 12volt. The battery reading is 13.5. Switch ALL off and the battery reading is 14.6. The engine has not been run. I love solar. If the wind genny had still been on the roof it would have generated zero.
Next step...
ReplyDeleteconvert the propulsion engine
of Valerie to electricity, using the solar panels for electricity and a storage battery.
In the days where this is not practical, use the traditional propulsion device.
Just think...in the future as solar panels become more efficient and the global warming increases all current motor vehicles will use a solar panel and a battery to operate an electric motor.

Keep an eye out on your travels through the year for a narrowboat call 'Stardust', it is one of our old hire boats and is now owned by a couple of americans - Richard and Valerie (she is an avid reader of your blog apparently!) They have sold up and moved aboard. We have told them to keep their eyes peeled for you too.

ReplyDeleteThere are electric boats. The solar we get is as far as I want to go. Perhaps if planing a new build the solar might be more towards propulsion.
