Well have just published my blog "BRAUNSTON" and checking my e- mails have one from the site meter that monitors the blog. It shows that between the 6th & 12th October the blog site had 333 visits and 625 pages were read.
I was quite chuffed so many people were looking in, could be i might beat Eastenders in the ratings war. Cheers all.
Checking my emails is such great fun. You never know who is (or disappoints you by not) sending
ReplyDeleteNever expect it brings only regret,
ReplyDeleteBut the un-expected can bring joy.

ReplyDeleteGood for you, yours is a wonderful blog and I for one am grateful for your descriptive prose and wonderous photos
I am sure people who frequent canals either by boat or by legs are a breed unto themselves. I was reading a book 'The water road' and he quite rightly said the same people who will walk past you on the pavement in town will quite happily say good morning as they meet you on the canal. They are a friendly lot. You meet the occasional 4 x 4's (a term coined by an old boater refering to the boating 'posh') but on the whole most of the people you meet are good sorts. Why!!! Even I say good morning to everyone I see when I am on a canal
ReplyDeleteThankyou Knowley
ReplyDeleteThankyou carol
It`s so true about the friendly folk on/along the canals. Perhaps we all share something in common, all as in Walkers, anglers, cyclists and boaters. Good old fresh air and the feeling of escapism as soon as you step onto the towpath away from the traffic and maybe just forget the pressure of life in the fast track. Of course i get the "away from it all" feeling permanently.
Just sitting here outside Tesco at Leighton Buzzard with a cuppa after shopping and just ahead of me is the main road through town and traffic is inching across yet half mile back i was cruising through fields. That i think is the attraction of canals so near yet can be so far.
