We have just moved off after being moored for 5 days. Our post which consisted of some books Jaq had ordered on Amazon and some Silicone grease plus some of that Rescue Tape I ordered from E Bay. The grease is for the Vetus stern gland and the tape is just there for emergencies.
Anyway everything arrived within 2 days but 1 book although sent 8 days ago has yet to arrive. We will pick it up on our return journey in a couple of weeks or so. Having spent 5 days moored amongst other boats we are now in an isolated spot with just the sheep bleating from across the cut.
A nice view both ways from this mooring at Congleton across the Biddulph Valley. This is on the embankment just before the aqueduct between bridges 72/73.
An even better view was this Beech tree that had fallen across a public footpath and cut only to clear the path. The beauty of this find was the fact it was just 100 feet from the canal but completely out of
view from passing boats. We cut quite a bit and now it has been split and stacked on the roof there is room for more on the way back.
Just before I hit the publish button I must report the sighting of a Blue sky with sunshine and also the fact it isn`t raining.........yet. What a wet summer!
